Summer Sloth by Zarac Summer Sloth by Zarac
So wanted to do something summery for myself, with something more than a field in the background.
Why not the Zakharov lake ?

Played with lighting, and this what came out, that soft summerlight you can get in photos sometimes you know. The little dots are this awful small bloodsucking bugs we have here upnorth.. hahah.

Dunai came in to the staffroom, where Alexander and Lukas sat and drank coffee. They started to chuckle as he walked past to pour himself a cup. He gave his father and brother in law a short glare.
"What?" He snapped, taking a little sip of the hot drink. Alexander looked down on the magazine laying on the table in front of him, a smile on his wrinkled face. Slowly Dunai walked towards the table, looking down at the open magazine.
"What the fu-!?" He gave both Lukas and Alexander a cold glare as they had started to luagh.
"Why did you send with that photo!?" He sank down on one of the chair, cup on the table infront of him.
"Aawh, Dunai, it's lovley." With a short sigh he looked down on the ad that started with a bold text.
"Live and train at the historical Zakharov Estate!" it said. Dunai shook his head slowly.
"I'm not even having a saddle.. or proper riding clothes. How serious."

This is amazing. I really love it. I don't think I can actually find anything I don't like XD

I love the water, the lighting, the soft quality of the background...The horse is stunning, all the muscles and anatomy look near perfect and that mane and tail! :la:

Your human anatomy is very good too, which makes everything look balanced. I've seen HARPG artists who are very good at the horse side, but not so good with the people.

As if it wasn't good enough already - its bareback :faint: If this 'photo' was entered into a magazine as an ad, my stable characters would be down there like a shot XD. Anyway, very beautiful artwork :)

Beautiful! I've been trying to draw some horses recently, and I'm so jealous of your skills at drawing them :XD: *taking notes from the WIP/drawing tips for this picture XD*

The atmosphere is fantastic in this image. I love the rider's hair and the care free-ness of the image.

Really beautyful!
I totally envy your work with hair :giggle: teach me!!

I would have loved a touch of yellow flowers or something to give contrast to the background, just a tiny little bit, since the lighting is so soft and dreamy.
But the water is really lovely done and the horse is to die for!
The rider is a bit small in the upper body(chest most), but other than that really nicely done too. I love how strong his arms look. Fits really good with the feel of power in the horse.

Good work!!!!

Oh I'm not so fancy with hair haha xD Mainly just shading with small brushes then highlighting.. xD Som low opacity erase on the ends. Simple (=

When you mention it, some flowers would be great :O I didn't think of that really... I drew some different types of grass, but as I always size done my images before uploading, I think they got lost =/
Thanks for the feedback, my human anatomy isn't the best, and thought it was something wrong with his, lol, now I know what ;D

ofcourse you're fancy :P
we're all fancy! Mwuharhahaha ... *caugh*

But glad if I could be helpfull. Let me know if I get annoying with my "critique" ;)
Zarac Featured By Owner Jan 26, 2011  Hobbyist Digital Artist
haha fancy ftw xD
I think it's great to get critique! It's what matters, as comments like "awesome" does seem shallow even if you appreciate it. And as I always want to improve and know whats great and whats not with my drawings comments with critique is better. Though it needs to be good critique not like; "It looks all wrong, it sucks" lol xD
